School Liaison Officer
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above position. This is a fixed-term post to coincide with the school calendar, subject to continued programme funding.
The successful applicant will require:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A working knowledge of primary and post-primary schools
- Ability to work on own initiative and liaise with relevant school personnel and outside agencies.
- Good organisational and record keeping skills.
Previous counselling experience would be an advantage.

I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the Director of Monaghan Education Centre. I look forward to working with you all in the most professional and collaborative sense. I intend to ensure that the work and legacy of all previous Directors (Seán Mac Cinna, Sr. Maura Dempsey, Diane Wright-Kenrick, Roy Mallon, Nóra Mac Cinna, Séamus McDermott, Jimmy McGeough and Dáithí Mac Thaidhg), as well as our Management Committee, Chaired by Mr. Roy Mallon, is respected and added to. My broader vision is of an Education Centre which continues its long-held passion for excellence, collaboration and community. MEC has a long-standing arrangement of hosting national support services and will continue to do so in partnership and with pride. Having been a post-primary Principal in Blanchardstown, I know all too well that the current educational climate is challenging.
