Meet the Scientist Webinar Series

As you probably know, ESCI was a partner previously in the hugely successful  Meet the Scientist series, in partnership with NUIG, START and SFI.

This free webinar series was designed to make science fun and accessible, introducing children to fascinating topics and inspiring career paths in science, technology, and healthcare. It is led by a passionate group of scientists who love what they do and want to share it with the world!

ESCI is delighted that this series is continuing again this school year and we have been involved in the planning process to date. The Meet the Scientist team is hugely appreciative of the involvement of ESCI in this endeavour and highlighted the difference our involvement made to both their profile and attendance figures last year. In the 2024/2025 series, kids will again get to meet real scientists and dive into thrilling subjects such as earthquakes, how the brain works, ocean life, and much more. It’s a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of science in an engaging and interactive way!

The webinars are completely free and designed for pupils in 4th, 5th, and 6th class in primary school. Each session features a professional scientist (who loves their work) and wants to share their personal journey—their background, hobbies, career path, and a fascinating scientific topic.

After the talk, pupils from across the country can engage in a live Q&A session, asking their own questions and making the experience even more interactive and fun.

This 2024-2025 series of 15 webinars will be held on Zoom, every Wednesday from 12 pm to 12.30 pm commencing on November 13th and running til March 2025.

Each webinar will be replayed on Fridays between 1.30pm and 2pm.

Full details can be found at https://www.meetthescientist.ie/2024-2025-series and I am attaching promotional materials to this email.

By clicking on the register for live session button for each session, you will find a (short) blurb for that session.
