(i) When you get\u00a0your\u00a0paper,<\/b>\u00a0read it or scan it,<\/b>\u00a0to get an idea of what it is\u00a0like.\u00a0Turn over every page.<\/span><\/p>\n

(ii) Pay special\u00a0attention to the\u00a0instructions at the beginning of the paper<\/b>\u00a0and for each\u00a0separate section<\/b>\u00a0and question.<\/span><\/p>\n

(iii)\u00a0Decide\u00a0on the questions<\/b> you are going to answer. Don\u2019t jump at a question because it looks easy, and don\u2019t ignore a question\u00a0<\/span>because it looks difficult at\u00a0first glance. Make sure you are doing all the\u00a0compulsory questions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(iv)\u00a0Box\u00a0<\/b>the\u00a0\u2019command\u2019\u00a0<\/b>or instruction word(s)\u00a0and underline<\/b>\u00a0the key \u2018topic\u2019\u00a0\u00a0words. (See section 6G again).<\/span><\/p>\n

(v) Start\u00a0writing\u00a0soon<\/b>\u00a0if it helps to \u2018unfreeze\u2019 you.<\/span><\/p>\n

(vi) Plan out the\u00a0order<\/b>\u00a0in which you will do the\u00a0questions<\/b>. In general, you should plan to do your best question first. Remember <\/span>your teachers\u2019 advice.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(vii)\u00a0Keep\u00a0rigidly to the recommended time<\/b>\u00a0for each question\/section.<\/b>\u00a0If you\u00a0are\u00a0not\u00a0finished when the time is up, leave a blank space and go on to the next\u00a0question. Remember. you generally get\u00a0more\u00a0marks for starting a new\u00a0<\/b>question than for finishing an old one.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

(viii) Follow all\u00a0the\u00a0rules<\/b>, given previously,\u00a0for written work,<\/b>\u00a0and especially the guidelines for long\u00a0essay-type answers <\/b><\/span>-i.e. sketch an outline plan, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(ix) Do your best\u00a0to\u00a0write legibly<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

(x) At the\u00a0end\u00a0<\/b>of the exam, when you are finished writing,\u00a0check over answers\u00a0<\/b>carefully.<\/b>\u00a0Make sure you have\u00a0numbered each answer clearly and correctly.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

(xi) Make sure\u00a0you are\u00a0properly<\/b>\u00a0identified (exam number)<\/b> on every separate page\/answer books\/\u2019write on\u2019 sections\u00a0<\/span>which you have to hand up.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(xii) If, at any stage during the exam, you get a little panicky, try the relaxation\u00a0breathing exercise<\/strong> outlined above.<\/span><\/p>\n
