Monaghan Education Centre are delighted to be partnering with Ms. Shauna Foster of Beech Hill College to launch our very first Primary School Film Festival Project and we are inviting your school and a small number of local schools to become involved in the pilot phase of this project during the 2019/20 school year.
The project will involve training for interested teachers in film-making using the resources of Monaghan Education Centre and the expertise and experience of Ms. Shauna Foster. The training will focus on using apps and other technology to record, edit, add backgrounds and music to a piece of film.
Teachers will have access to the resources required to produce their own short film on a theme of their choice with all films featuring in a final showcase event before the end of the school year where parents and relatives can attend and celebrate the effort of the students and teachers.
The project will seek to develop skills such as collaboration, problem-solving, oral language development, leadership and communication in a fun and creative environment.
Should your school be interested in this project please contact the centre at 047 74000 on or before Friday 22nd November. We will then arrange and initial information/training session for all schools to plan, share ideas and put a structure on the project.
