Monaghan Education Centre in partnership with Youth Work Ireland Cavan/Monaghan, The Children and Young People Services Committee and Cavan/Monaghan Education and Training Board are pleased to offer your school an opportunity to attend a Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Intersex Capacity Building Training Day in Monaghan Education Centre.

This training will build upon engagement with local young LGBTi+ people who have developed a resource tool that can be used in both formal and non-formal education settings. This is a resource for the general school population to promote inclusion, to challenge discrimination, to create a common language in order to provide a supportive and consistent message to these young people.

There are a number of established support groups for LGBTi+ young people in Co. Monaghan located in Carrickmacross, Monaghan town, Castlebayney and Clones. The same young people in these groups are attending your school.

This training will take place:

Time: 10.00 -1.30pm (Light Lunch Provided)

Two representatives from all post-primary schools, the Head of the SPHE Department and a member of The Student Support Team, are invited to attend.
